Who says the little ones (and their parents) don't enjoy a little style and elegance as well? Here are a few of my favourite designer-inspired nurseries.

Edmonton Interior Decorator | DIY & Crafts | Wine Corks
Though I am the type to imbibe a glass of vino now and then, I'm not the type to save the corks. In looking at these simple DIY (drink it yourself?) projects, perhaps I have been remiss in tossing the toppers away. I guess I'll just have to pop a few more bottles so I can get to DIY'ing one of these little crafts.
P.S. What's your favourite wine?

Edmonton Interior Decorator | Design Services | E-Design
I received one of the sweetest comments on my Rachellabelle Interiors Facebook page a while back. It was from a lovely Southern Belle wondering, if this neighbour to the north would work with her.
"I've wanted to talk to a designer but I was afraid of the cost but your designs are so beautiful and you have such a passion for it I just cannot resist asking you for help!"
While I typically work with local clients, how could I possibly turn down such a sweet request? I decided to work with her as my first ever "virtual" client. We did a phone consult, she sent me photos, and then the final designs were delivered by e-mail. Another pleasant conversation wrapped up the process. All in all, I think both parties were pleased with the results.
Here are the moodboards I created for her living space:
So, whether you are reading this blog from near or far, if you're interested in working together, I'd love to hear from you.

Edmonton Interior Decorator | Design Trend | Sliding Barn Doors
Slide into a New Trend
There's nothing country about me, and I certainly wasn't raised in a barn. So why am I loving this new design trend of sliding barn doors? Because it's practical and fabulous! A lot of times, doors open into space and "eat up" valuable real estate. I am a huge fan of pocket doors, but if they aren't installed at the time of construction, it can be a project that most aren't willing to undertake. Well, hellooooo sliding barn doors. A brilliant solution with a fraction of the headaches of demolition and renovation. From urban contemporary to cottage classic, there is a barn door style to fit your home.
Want to know how you can add a sliding barn door to your home?
Drop me a line or give me a call.

Edmonton Interior Decorator | Home Staging | Traditional & Virtual
It's no secret I'm obsessed with homes. It's what led me to a one-of-a-kind career as a REALTOR, Interior Decorator & Home Stager. It's true, I do go weak in the knees when I walk into furniture showrooms. I also consider watching television shows, about decorating & real estate, "professional development." In fact, I usually DVR shows to watch while I'm on my stationary bike. (Yes, I like to multi task.) One of my favourite show to watch, is the Canadian show, "The Stagers."
Some people "get" the need for staging, and others don't. They think their home should sell, whether it's vacant, or filled with Granny's hand-me-down furniture. Think again.
Buyers want to walk into a showroom like setting. You need to do the work for them by showing what their soon-to-be home can look like. Also, with the trend towards previewing homes online, which properties do you think are going to stand out? When working with me, I can offer you both traditional and virtual staging solutions.
2. The second pair of properties I chose to compare, are similar, furnished condos in the same building. This time, both properties have the luxury of displaying a "lived in" look. But, only one is staged. If given the choice, which property would you rather look at?
3. The final 4 selections I present to you, are condos before and after virtual staging*. It takes the guess out of the equation and gives buyers a concrete notion of what their home could look like.
Do you have questions about preparing your property for sale? Call me -- I'd love to help! *Virtual staging is offered to Sellers via Kennedy Real Estate.
